I am glad she went for 4.93 instead of 5.02 or whatever. Her 4.80 jump did not looks anywhere close to 5 meters. Maybe a clearance here will give her confidence.

Misses her third at 4.93. Yuck! She doesn't time up the swing at all.

Thanks for the updates! Even though pole vault received good attention here in Slovenian TV. The updates help out.

 Man I hate it when something as dreary as real life gets in the way of my entertainment. I wound up having a job-related conflict and didn't get to watch the meet. I thought I might be able to catch the end of it, but by the time I got on there were just a bunch of African dancers and acrobats cavorting around on the field.

Anyhow, here are Isi's comments on today's activities:
[quote]01:20 08.09.2007 – Light Athletics – Fourth stage of the Golden League of light athletics-2007
Yelena Isinbaeva: one more attempt – and I would lose

In the fourth stage of the "Golden League" in Zurich the champion of the Olympic Games, the world and Europe, world record holder Yelena Isinbaeva, was ever so close to defeat and loss of her chance to win the one million dollar series jackpot. Only on her last successful attempt at 4.80 m did she beat her teammate, bronze medalist of the world championships in Osaka, Svetlana Feofanova. Yelena Isinbaeva herself commented on the battle’s progress to the special correspondent of the Agency of sport information "All Sport".

“The primary task today was to win, and I accomplished this task, so I’m completely satisfied,â€Â
