No laughing matter though is the state of Lobinger's groin, which is herniated on both sides a fact discovered recently during a three week training stint in South Africa.

"I've been having problems since April. I could have had an operation but then but I would have lost the season so I've just decided to compete through the pain and have lots and lots of physio," added Lobinger who has already scheduled an operation at the end of the season.
