Awesome!!! New PR
for those of you who dont know Steve, he just turned 21 and 5.60 is no where near what hes capable of jumping. Right now hes already using 5.20m poles gripping above 5.0m, i think right about 5.05. He has one of the sweetest take offs ive ever seen and when he figures out how to swing out of that take off really well, hes gonna be a monster!

Olympic dream is still on
Aug 1 2007
By David Groves
BRITISH record holder Nick Buckfield will revert to his full-time status as a pole vaulter next month in a bid to make his third appearance at an Olympic Games.
The 34-year-old Crawley AC star is determined to follow his previous milestones in Atlanta (1996) and Athens (2004) by flying the Great Britain flag once again at the Games,in Beijing next year.
Buckfield, who still holds the British best of 5.80m from 1998, will quit his three part-time jobs by the end of September to allow the injury plagued athlete to concentrate fully on another tilt at the Olympics in China.
Buckfield took his national championships medal haul to close to double figures following a decade of competing at this level, with a bronze medal in the Norwich Union World Trials and UK Championships at the Manchester Regional Arena on Saturday.
The gold medal was won by Newham & Essex Beagles' British No 1 Steve Lewis with a personal best 5.61m, with Dearnside's Luke Cutts taking silver at 5.30m.
