Another Feo update
Another Feo update ...
If I have some time this evening, I'll see if I can find anything more detailed about what she said at the press conference.
Sexist observation: There are some women who can look good while pouting, but Svetlana isn't one of them. She looks a hundred times more attractive while smiling.

At yesterday’s press conference in Moscow dedicated to the forthcoming 11th indoor world championships of light athletics (Moscow, 10-12 March), two of our famous sportswomen participated: Tatiana Kotova and Svetlana Feofanova. Special attention from the numerous journalists was riveted on Svetlana.
It is understandable since for more than a year Feofanova was absent from the press conferences and other public events, and she did not participate in the competitions. The reason is known to all – the injury, which did not allow the possibility to enter into the sector for pole vaulting. And here, after missing the contact with the famous sportswoman, the journalists literally attacked her with questions.
It was felt that Svetlana, who never before rejected press contact, enjoyed the return of this interest. She appeared in front of the gathering to have outwardly grown prettier, and confident in her strength. The girl answered all questions, as always, directly and frankly.
According to Feofanova, the past year was not wasted. She continued to train, to regain her best sport condition, and even "if I had come out at last year's world championships in Helsinki, I could have counted on a medal". Answering the question: "Where is it better to compete, at home or abroad?" Svetlana said that the fact that the world championship takes place in Moscow has pluses and minuses for her. The responsibility is greater, and then "When I won abroad, I could be the champion and [still] hide, but at home that won’t happen." She sounded half joking and half-serious.
Svetlana Feofanova's plans include an appearance at the indoor championship of Russia on 16 February in her home facility of the CSKA (CENTRAL SPORTS CLUB of the ARMY), then at the international competitions in Birmingham.
And Feofanova accepted an offer to participate in an Internet-conference at the end of February, which will be organized by the RusAthletics.com site on the threshold of the Moscow world championships. The precise date we will coordinate with Svetlana and report on our site shortly. Until then you can send your questions to the famous champion.

Re: Another Feo update
They announced the date of Svetlana's "Internet-conference" today...
That's 8:00 to 10:00 am EST, in case anybody wants to follow the chat in real time.
The text field accepts non-Cyrillic input, but I don't know if there will be someone on the other end willing to do translations. If anybody here wants to pose a reasonably simple question, let me know and I can probably translate it into Russian and post it for you (although going from Russian to English is easier for me than vice versa, since I at least know if the translation sounds reasonable).
Alternatively, you can use Babel Fish or something similar to do the translation for you, but I'd advise running the Russian output back through an English translation as a "sanity check", since sometimes the automatic translation software can produce rather goofy results.
