IAAF AUCTION - World and Olympic memories of Bekele and Isinbayeva - What’s your bid?
Monday 16 January 2006
Monte-Carlo - World Athletes of the Year, Kenenisa Bekele (ETH) and Yelena Isinbayeva (RUS), have donated historically significant items of memorabilia for the charity auction which began this morning.

All the auction lots are available for bids for a ten day period via the on-line auction house eBay, CLICK HERE TO BID

Yelena Isinbayeva (RUS)

Yelena Isinbayeva, 23, the reigning Olympic and World champion for the women’s Pole Vault, has donated the competition shoes which she wore when taking the Olympic gold medal with a World record of 4.91m, on 24 August 2004 in Athens, Greece. In a final which saw nine Olympic records, Isinbayeva dramatically cleared 4.80m on her first and last try to grab the gold medal position after being on the verge of elimination after first time failures at 4.70m and 4.75m. She then soared over 4.85m and then the World record 4.91m at the first try.

Yelena Isinbayeva also donates national vest to IAAF auction
(IAAF)

Yelena Isinbayeva’s autographed 2004 Olympic competition shoes are now open for bids on ebay. Also as part of the auction lot is a Russian Team T-Shirt which has been signed by her.

Hey, I just noticed an even more valuable pair of spikes now up for auction. Bubka's from 1997. It is up for 7 more days. I think that I will be putting my ebay skills to the test in a week. ;)
