Looks like Dmitry Starodubtsev, but aside from his pole-break at Worlds, I haven't seen anything from him since Beijing. Last I heard, he was training with Petrov (I'd understand Petrov's interest, since he always had a pretty solid free take-off. Looks good, new contender for 2012 ;) -6P

Yes, Дмитрий Стародубцев = Dmitriy Starodubtsev. Thanks Dashboard translation widget!

I'm not sure what meet that was at, I'll try to find out. That's a big PR for him.

Here is a recent article with a rough translation by google:

Dmitry Starodubtsev: the desire to London - the final without rain
Saturday, November 26, 2011 -

Poorly Excellent
The Russian national team in athletics is now virtually at full strength is in pre-season training camp. The team is divided into four major groups that are trained in the Kyrgyz Republic, Portugal, and Sochi Kislovodsk. One of the few athletes who are preparing for pre-Olympic winter season at home - the leader of the Russian national team in pole vaulting Dmitry Starodubtsev. On preparations for the season, Dmitry Starodubtsev Agency told the sports information " All Sports ".

- We have with my coach Alexander Petrovich Shalonnikovym were prepared for the winter season in Chelyabinsk, because I need a good rasprygatsya, - said Dmitry Starodubtsev. - In this arena of Chelyabinsk there is an excellent platform on which we will do it. It is well to turn out the technique. With such a structure can run faster, take a grip higher, jump higher altitudes. In this way you get used to the moral heights of serious and hard poles. In general, for the moment, the platform - this is what I need.

- When do you plan to make his first start?
- While not yet fully defined. Most likely it will happen in the championship, "Petrel" in athletics. During his high school must serve mandatory. Let me remind you I am in the Chelyabinsk State Pedagogical University.

- What results are targeting in the winter season?
- It's hard to say anything concrete. But the plan to "climb" to 5.90.

- The main winter start - the World Championship in Istanbul?
- Of course. We are getting ready with my coach just for this launch. The main objective of the winter season - getting into the winners at the World Championships in Turkey.

- When the World Championships in Daegu (Korea), you once again broke the pole, you're going to change the company ...
- It did. A couple of months ago, ordered a batch of other poles. Moreover, I can say that they are already in Moscow. Now is their disinhibition, and then the poles will go to Chelyabinsk. I'm waiting for them impatiently. Hopefully have time to test new missiles before the New Year.

- In terms of training there were some changes?
- Here all the same. We are working on Alexander Petrovich and experience accumulated scheme. The only thing - now take a closer listen to the organism to its requirements. In this regard, we certainly have more experience.

- The onset of the Olympic Games is already being felt?
- I try not to think about it. It is still early. Now you just need to concentrate on the highest result.

- What must deem that you have successfully performed in London?
- Home - to prepare for the planned scenario took place, and various troubles in the form of injuries avoided my party. Rivals, I am not afraid of English fans, too. Only wish to London - is that during the final of no rain. Well, I do not know how to jump in the rain.

I'm guessing this was in training? It looks like some sort of downhill runway setup, and I can't find this mark anywhere online, not even the Russian Federation website.
