Cycling: Pros/Cons?

Unread postby Split » Wed Aug 13, 2008 8:27 pm

I started Cycling a bit today. I went out and did about 5 miles. Kept it at a moderately high intensity.
Just want to know now, this doesn't hinder my ability to pole vault does it?
I never met a pole I didn't like.

It's building strength. It might not be exactly the right kind of strength, but you will be more physically fit for the season. Don't go and do 100k's though, that would be detrimental, as it is too much focused on the slow twitch fibers.

i use the bike for quick sprints or for 5min at like 110+rpm on a stationary when i need some rest because its not as rough on the legs... kinda like the pool for shin splints and stuff.
