Phony Marks on USATF list

Unread postby smokinvaulter1 » Mon Jun 16, 2003 12:32 am

I saw some phony marks on the USA championships list. Sad that people have to lie to get some where.

Couldn't figure out who you were talking about. All the marks match up with the US list? USATF does check out the marks. Also, the qualifying window goes back to May of last year I think.

all the marks have to be sent in with a verification, i.e. meet and date. it looks like all these guys are good. here are some guys who entered this meet with last years mark.

18-4.5/5.60 Steve Deming Pocatello TC 5/11/02 Modesto
18-8.5/5.70 Lawrence Johnson adidas 7/2/02 Lausanne
18-6.5/5.65 Matt Phillips Club NW 6/8/02 Shoreline

Nevertheless they are stil eligible to compete.

There is one on there i don't think is true but its not my place to rat them out. All others are very legit. Great to see Starky back on ther and giving it a go. Good luck to all. Add tommy Skipper too.

I don't think any of them are bogas. The questionable one in peoples mind would be Daniel and I saw that jump, so I know that one is legit. I pretty much remember all of the other ones except Deans, but I'm sure he jumped 5.55, its just not that high for him. You guys got me on this one. Lon

I can vouch for Steve Deming's. I was the official and was the guy who measured his bar, along with two other guys.
