Spencer came in at 15'00" and made it on his 1st attempt to win. Blew through on 1st attempt at 16'00" on same pole. Went up a pole and made it on his next attempt. Went to 17'02" and cleared it with room to spare on his 1st attempt to take the national outdoor lead. Stayed on the same pole and had 6 inches on 17'05" on first and third attempts but brushed it on the way down. He's jumping at Lake Hamilton (my school) tomorrow. Great facilities and good weather forecasted, so we'll see what happens.

It's been an exciting day! We had a couple of other boys that train here with us jump well today. Heath Morphew, a Sr. from DeQueen, AR jumped 15'00" in Prescott and Chad Faulkner, a Sr. from Fayetteville jumped 15'06" in Rogers. These guys, along with a few more of our 15 footers, Derek Womack, Sr. Nashville, AR and Michael Joiner, So. from Greenwood will all be at our home meet tomorrow.
This is the best pole vault field ever assembled in the history of Arkansas high school sports. We have six vaulters over 15 feet, including Brent Sams from Alma this year and that has never happened. I'm pumped!
