Athletes can do some goofy things, albeit in a good way.

PGA tour golfer Duffy Waldorf, in first place going into Sunday’s round in the Chrysler Classic, always wears a floral shirt during competitions.

Hockey players typically grow out beards in pursuit of the Stanley cup, and baseball players wear their lucky socks every game until they lose.

At least NDSU pole vaulter Shawn Francis washes his lucky socks.
