Vaultref - Sorry a little slow on a reply here, but with requires schools to ensure included I agree it is on the school or the coach not we the officials to insure a helmet meets any kind of standard. thanks for pointing that out.

Looks like helmets certified by the ASTM standard are only "recommended". Better print this out if you have vaulters wearing helmets, because an official will probably say something about it and you need to have proof of the rules.
