NU’s Thull kicks it up a notch: Pole vaulter has jump in step

Most athletes talk about taking their game to new heights.
Northeastern’s Jordan Thull isn’t kidding when he says it. Try 17 feet, 3/4 inches.
That’s the NU pole vault record the freshman from Salem, Conn., will be attempting to improve on this weekend in the New England Indoor Track and Field Championhips at Boston University.
Thull is the top seed in the pole vault event, with UConn’s Jake Radzevich expected to provide his primary competition. Thull’s immediate goals are to become more consistent with his 16-6 to 17-foot jumps and qualify for next month’s nationals in Arkansas, an effort that most likely would require a successful clearance of 17-4.
