Concordia senior Jessie Gallaher clears the bar during an indoor meet this winter.
Reynolds High School graduate Jessie Gallaher is making her mark in the pole vault and setting her sights on a possible trip to the 2008 Olympic Games.
The senior at Concordia University cleared 13-feet-7 1/2-inches, missing her career best by only a half-inch, at the Pole Vault Summit held in Reno last month. The clearance gives Gallaher the nation’s top college mark at any level this season.
Gallaher won last year’s NAIA national pole vault title and continues to hold school records at Concordia and at Mt. Hood Community College. The Cavaliers finished in the top 10 at last year’s NAIA national championships.
