Look for a sand and gravel pit in your area: they have really long and wide conveyor belts that get worn out, break and retired. Especially if they know that you are working with students in sports, they may simply donate it and give it to you for free; it seems that some of the contractors repurpose the belts for use in their operations and buy the broken ones. It took me several weeks to get mine: the gal responsible for dispatch and scale operations was very helpful in locating one for us...
