Need a used 12' 130 UCS Spirit and 12'6 130-135 Mystic Pole

Unread postby Petrov'sNeighbor » Tue Oct 09, 2012 12:28 pm

I am looking for a 12' 130 UCS Spirit pole and 12'6 Pacer Mystic 130-135.

Just a general question for the experts: Would a 12'6" 130 Mystic equate with a 12' 130 Spirit? I am familiar with Jan Johnson's chart, but read on this website that 12' Spirits can run stiffer than other brands.

If anyone has both of these poles, I would be really happy to purchase them plus shipping asap. Thank you.

My experience is that a 12'130 Spirit feels about the same as a 12'140 Mystic. It varies depending on the flex of the Spirit, because they run in 10lb increments they have a bigger range.

My recommendation would be to stick with the same manufacturer. Since Spirit doesn't make 12'6 poles, I would recommend getting a 12'130 Mystic/Skypole/Pacer and a 12'130 or 135 Mystic/Skypole/Pacer. If you buy used, make sure it's not more than about 8 years old, because they changed their flex charts around 2003 or so and a pole prior to that will be stiffer.

For a high school athlete, it's also nice to have the weight label near the top so you have the whole pole available to use.

Also, please post where you are located! Shipping poles is super expensive, so if someone has one near you, you could save a lot of money.
