Pole vault training device
NEW AND IMPROVED! A home version of The Perfect Plant (Indoor) pole vault training device has been developed. Both the new home version and the existing scholastic model now include an additional bungie cord which allows the vaulter to perform 4 individual drills or a combination three phase movement to improve sport-specific strength, postural control/awareness and technique. Specifically, these drills address the problem of "blocking out", and encourage "pushing the pole to vertical", achieving and controlling "the reverse C position" and "staying behind the pole." This training tool is unmatched in its ability to accurately simulate forces placed on the body during the plant and take-off phases of the pole vault while teaching proper body alignment. This device is extremely safe and effective. The home version is available in 4 resistance levels which accomodate vaulters using poles from 10' 90# pole to 15' 175# pole. Additional bungies may also be purchased for those athletes jumping on larger poles. To learn more about this device, please visit polevaultperfectplant.com.

Re: Pole vault training device
I indeed own one and have as well as some videos from before i used it during a season and after.
This actually works great as far as functions and it really allows you to not only hit the right positions, but feel tension in the chest and really strengthen.
It comes with great directions, but i will say that if you could find a way to permanently attach it then you would have less strain on the door. It might not be a problem, but with the door that i used, i needed to find another place. Hope it helps!
before - Reno 2008 where i PRed 3 times

after - the jumps past half way. particularly 1:17,got it after Reno, and then used it through out the season. obviously not going to see amazing results in

Re: Pole vault training device
Thanks for the review! I think I might build my own version... Longer bungies, longer stubby, weighted tip on the stubby: all allow for accurate simulation of the actual planting motion itself. But it seems much more valuable for position specific strength than technique.
A nice idea for a training device!
