The Topper, Strength & Balance for the Top of Your Vault

Unread postby advath » Fri Mar 14, 2008 2:16 pm

As seen Demonstrated at the Pole Vault Summit
In Use at the US Olympic Training Center and Many PV Camps

The Pole Vault Topper drills increase strength, balance and alignment of the body on the pole while pulling, turning and pushing. These great drills develop strength and balance for the top of the vault. They accentuate the balance from the bottom of the pole to the top of your feet. The 3 different strengths and lengths of elastic cord mimic the elastic energy stored in the bent pole.

Vaulters can start by doing the drill on the ground and build up to a more advanced drill balancing the pole tip vertically in the air while performing the pull, turn and push moves.

The topper is great for learning the positions you need to move up the pole.
It give you a bit of resistance, so it's not just for learning the position it's a workout too.
