BTB2. Probably product of the year (and years to come).

Just received a package from Neovault, and is now watching the DVD.

Clearly a much improved product. This is, IMHO, a vital piece of equipment to any coach or an aspiring athlete. Book is way more detailed in terms of illustrations and DVD is significantly improved (the old one stops after chapter one, and I have to select subsequent chapter in the menu to view the rest). DVD now has commentaries by Alan Launder, and looks no longer as something I could have bought on a dark alley in Singapore.

What were you doing in a dark alley in Singapore??? Was it fun? I am going back through Singapore next week - might be able to find the same alley. ;)

Hehe...

Just saying, that the new product, book and DVD, looks way more developed in every sense. As I have said before, did my old version look pretty much like a bad bootleg (DVD). The new one has everything I asked for (flawless playing, commentary, slow-motion sequences and sequences broken down into specific phases (and the aussie accent :) )).

Haven't actually been to Singapore, so I can't recommend any dark alleys :)

Nice to see so many familiar names (Becca, Bubba, Baggett, Agapit) in the new BTB aIt.

Thanks for your effort, Alan.

I am pleased to see that two people - a Dane and a fellow from North carolina - have read the book so far. Hope a few more get a copy so I can get my overdraft down!

Seems to me -looking at the results of the conferences around the country - indoors of course - that there are a lot of coaches and athletes in need of enlightenment; but I suppose if you are happy winning the girls conference title with 11' and the boys at 13' then you dont want or need any help.

I don't think there is anyway you could call yourself a serious coach or a semi serious student of the vault without this book in your Library!

I have alot here at the house so get them now. For the first 9 people that email me to buy a book I will throw in a NeoVault "Reconning" dvd. For the next 100 I will throw in my "Coaches Hip Pocket Guide" for free. And if you want to see both Alan and myself in action those DVD's are available too.

Posted: Tue Feb 12, 2008 8:34 pm Post subject: BEGINNER BUBKA & ISINBAYEVA II better than ELUSIVE BAR
Yes I am willing to tell you this is by far the best ever book on pole vaulting ever written and better than my ELUSIVE BAR I wrote in 1972.
YES I just got my copy of Alan Launde'sr and John Gormley's new 2nd Edition and I am willing to tell you after reading only half this is the very best book on the pole vault written.
MORE DETAILED PHOTO SEQUENCES, MORE TECHNICAL DATA, MORE POLE VAULT YOU ARE ALL HUNGREY FOR!!!

If you are serious about jumping higher no matter your level in the sport this is the book you must have.

I have received the new edition of the Beginner to Bubka two days ago and finished it in one evening. This is a huge step up from the first edition. The understanding of the Modern pole vault model and historic perspective make this book truly the most comprehensive reference on pole vault ever written.

In my opinion if you are going to discuss further pole vault topics and you did not read this book you are like a cave man in the 21st century unaware that people have landed on the moon.

I must congratulate Alan with a phenomenal achievement.

Amazing! Roman Botcharnikov aka agapit. :D

No, I've never been a speed reader. That's read # 1--the excitement read. Read #2 takes a little more time to fully comprehend what you are reading and how to apply it.
I told my wife how excited I was to read it because this book has gotten great reviews from the PV gurus and she picked on me--saying "all 2 PV gurus liked it?" and that it looked just like the 1st one. I told her it's a PV thing and she wouldn't understand. This is unofficially the 259th PV thing that she wouldn't understand...
