Hi folks,
As a follow-up to my previous post and for what it is worth… this add for the pole vault pit is incorrect in the description of its size. You will be getting much more. I talked to the guy who was going to sell them earlier this summer, and I am pretty sure when all the (7) pole vaulting pads are assembled they measure (aprox) 16’ wide by 23’ deep. (I bought a similar used pit for my daughter a month ago.) If you are wondering how to move them, I found that for a short distance a 12’ long flat bed trailer, pulled by my mini van worked fine. It took me three trips. My guess is that it could all fit in a 24’long straight body truck. Two motivated people could load and unload the pits. Not much weight, just bulky. The high jump pits are a bonus.

I'm pretty sure it is a legitimate site. In true Gov. form, I began inquiring about the pits three months ago...and the guy I was talking to then was an employee of the J.M.University. He said he could not sell the pits to me directly but I could bid on them as soon as they were listed for auction. He told me he would call me back when they were listed. I thought okay, maybe three weeks... not three months. So I have since found and purchased another pit. Then early this week I got an email telling me they are now listed and he gave me the web link. I joined "Pole Vault Power", this week so I could let the vaulting community know these pits were available. I sure didn't want to see someone buy them and scrap them for the foam.
Hope you can find your way through the "Gov. stuff" to get the info you need to properly evaluate the listing and its value.
