North American Pole Vault Association
During the early 1990s, there was a decline in the interest in the pole
vault event in the United States at the high school and collegiate levels.
The North American Pole Vault Association (NAPVA) was formed to provide
a grand-prix type schedule for vaulters in the United States, to provide
travel and coaching assistance for athletes and to hold competitions in
regions that will provide the most exposure for the event and the athletes
who compete in it. The NAPVA is a non-profit association dedicated to
the sport of track and field and more specifically, the event of the pole
vault.
USA Track & Field Pole Vault Development
The United States Track and Field Association (USATF), the governing body

the men’s pole vault. Brian Yokoyama, assistant track coach at Mt.
SAC, is the National Development Chairman for the women’s pole vault.

The Fresno State Track and Field Club is a coalition of former athletes
from one of the finest track and field programs in NCAA Division I competition.
Fresno State is a powerhouse in track and field and cross country, and
dominates many events at the Western Athletic Conference. The strong tradition
of pole vaulters at Fresno State is apparent in the numerous 17 foot and
higher jumpers it has produced. The Fresno State Track and Field Club
has a great tradition of reaching out to the local community through numerous
clinics and camps, held at Warmerdam Field and throughout the Central
Valley.
