Sergie Bubka Classic
Donestke, Ukraine

From the Associated Press
39 year old Sergie Bubka returned to action after a 2 year hiatus Sunday to headline his annual event. The Ukranian needed only one attempt to break his own world record of 6.15, with a clearance at 6.20. "I felt very good about again breaking the record. Usually I like to raise (the) record one centimeter at a time, but since I felt really very good today, I had it raised 5cm. I think noone will touch this record for many years to come."

results

1. Sergie Bubka (6.20)
2. Alexander Averbukh (5.80)
3. Tye Harvey (5.75)
4. Vasily Guryetski (5.75)
5. Rens Bloom (5.60)
6. Rodian Gautuallin (5.60)
7. Brian Carrell (3.00)
8. Brad Tyler 2.40
Retain faith that you will prevail in the end, regardless of the difficulties.
