Unread postby AltoonaPV » Sun Jan 12, 2003 8:29 pm

Ha Thursday i almost cleared PSU's pits at my indoor meet  . My coach Rob Whaul said psu has close to the largest pit you can get..and i hit the back edge and bounced off  .. Haha. My standards are at 30 and they are not comming up...atleast i land deep in the pit :P

Way to go! You just praised yourself for being the next likely candidate to either die or suffer from a major head injury while vaulting, and potentially damage the sport even more than it was last season after 3 people died.

Dare might have died in the box, but the other 2 were from sailing over or rolling off of the back of the pit and hitting their head. You should not be proud of landing at the back of the pit.

Standards at 30 inches are a good idea, but get on a pole that will get you landing in the MIDDLE of the pit.

Don't ruin it for the rest of us.

No crap..i did move up to a heavy pole..but that tells you something that i wish pits would cost less so schools would by bigger pits.

That pup has some p### and vinegar in him - how high are you going over your top hand? You can get real deep and still do a lot wrong - remember - PV is to go high - LJ is to go long

i would never brag..it was for to tell people what happens and i wish pits were so much less money and schools buy bigger pits when you get on a pole and you blow through it and it launches you... i jump 12'6 capping a 13 foot pole..and i am skimming over 13 right now

Hmm I change my mind maybe the "coaches box" would be useful.
