School pit cover

Unread postby Mcshorty » Mon Mar 16, 2015 7:43 pm

I was interested in a pit cover that is water protective for our school. Our cover has completely ripped in two and almost in fourth. But obviously it doesn't have to be anything fancy, just has to work. Looking for a cheap price, school funds are not fantastic but will be reasonable. I live in Ohio in Franklin county but will be willing to drive to come get it if the price is good.

I just ordered new PV Cover/Top Pit and a new all weather cover - from BSN sports who were very reasonably priced. I'll take a look at the top pit to see if it is something we can just give you - because it's functional, just really dusty. For a quote, you can contact my guy at BSN Sports: Larry Canard (LCanard@bsnsports.com). I have no affiliation with them other than as a customer, so this is just a peer to peer referral.

I'll check with my DSA and see if we can just give you our old PV cover pit. We are willing to help if we can. Worst case, maybe trade it for a pole or something that we can use - to satisfy the accountants that we got something for it.

Thanks,
Jim

Alright thanks I will look into to them and ask my school if it would be something that we could do. But don't forget to get back to me with any information about your pit cover as soon as you can. Thanks so much.

If you don't find something, a quick and cheap alternative is a good quality heavy duty tarp. I found one that I liked for our pit at homedepot.com. I use it just to keep the sun from damaging the weather cover. The sun's UV rays shorten the life of the weather cover. I found that when new, the silver tarp kept quite a bit of water off too.
This is the one I bought, but there are even larger ones available.

You will need to anchor it with old tires, hurtles, or something to keep it from blowing off,

Have more money and time? Here are some suggestions (I haven't tried any of them, but I did save the links when I looked into it myself a year ago.):

Okay thanks. Right now we are using 2 large tarps and putting rubber weight plates on it to keep it down.
