NC does not have middle school vault, except maybe in a few select areas. We did not have it in my middle school and that's my state.

Michigan has pole vault for both boys and girls starting in the 7th grade. In our middle school conference top boys are about 10' to 11' and for girls are 7'6" to 8'6"

Alabama is a real mixed bag.

Alabama has sanctioned Varsity meets with Middle School (7&8) divisions but no "State" level, Middle School meet.

Many middle schools do not have track teams so their athletes are allowed to vault JV (7,8,9) for the High School they feed.
There are also JV and middle school meets in various regions of the state that are sanctioned while in others they aren't. In North Alabama these are very loosely run, I don't believe they even record results. The idea is just to give the younger kids a chance to get some meet experience before they get to High School.
Then there are some city school systems that hold sanctioned MS meets for their city schools ... but don't allow the polevault (go figure).

Middle schools do not have pole vaulting in SC, however you can move up to your high school team and pole vault for the high school you will attend.
