driving...

Unread postby birdi_gurlie » Thu Mar 05, 2009 11:18 pm

So, I just started driving this week...
And my ankle and the area above my right knee hurts.
I've tried stretching it. It helps a little but not much, and only for a little while.
I've been driving for 3 days, and it didnt hurt Tuseday, hurt a little bit Wednesday, and it hurt a little more today.
Is this normal when first starting to drive?
[I know this isn't the most normal place to ask this, but I was just wondering if you guys might know.]

Well, technically yes.
Because I've hurt both knees.
But not in that part. I hurt the patellar tendon, BELOW the patella, not above it!

Oh, btw, I mean driving a car, not driving the knee [for PV]

Ligaments, tendons, bones, muscles... they're all connected. Maybe try talking to an orthopaedist.

Maybe you don't have the seat the right distance away? Or maybe you are just too tense!

It's only been a little while, so its probably just using muscles and such that don't usually work at those angles for longer than they're usually worked.

Well, I did it today and my ankle and knee didn't hurt as much, but that may be because I also iced it last night :)
The too-tense thing might be it too...haha, the other girl was like, "You have fear written all over your face! Quit being scared! You'll get better when you're not scared!" [I don't turn smooth enough.]

yea your fine. The same thing happened to me when i first started to drive. Your just not used to using those muscles in that way. You will get used to it.
