Question about poles

Was looking at some poles and wondering if a 13'7 137 would be near the same as a 14'1 158? I know they won't be the exact same, but is there a big progression between the two? BTW, if you can't tell, they are ESSX poles.

Nowhere near the same pole. On the relative flex chart, a 13'7 137 would be the equivalent of a 14'1 127. 10lbs per six inches rule. So the 158 would be like a 30lb jump in poles at the same handgrip.

Sorry I had a typo in there. The 13'7 is really a 167 NOT a 137.

In that case, assuming 10lbs per 6 inches, a 13'7 167 is considered basically the same pole as a 14'1 157 at the same handgrip, so yes, they are virtually the same stiffness pole, not taking flex # into account.
