i personal like pacer carbons because they are light and they feel like the roll over well, but give alot if you catch it write. I casn't rag on spirits, but if you have a choice and you know your flex's i'd go with carbons also because they are lighter.

I would stick with the same brand you are using now, unless you are unhappy with it.
If you have a series, and you are switching brands, it can throw off your timing a bit. They tend to have a slightly different feel as you carry them, and a slightly different response on top.

yes, i have a 16'1'' UCS Spirit 170 (20.8) flex and next biggest is a 16'1'' 175 Pacer Carbon (19.7) flex. Never planted or jumped fully on the carbon yet and only resently cleared my 1st meet bar with the spirit. I hold 15'1'' on it aswell. But I dont think the carbon will throw we off too bad and if it does ill get it down pat real fast, so im not to worried about the transition, if needed. I'm thinkin about a 15'6'' 180 or 185 carbon or spirit tho, just to let you know. What are your thoughts on that?

it really depends on how you vault. If you have a quicker invert, than the carbon might be the way to go. UCS are just a hair slower, so it just depends on how you jump. Also if you are used to UCS, stick with them, it will be an easier transition.

You have a nearly perfect 5lb transition between poles 1.1 flex. Are you getting stuck between the poles or are the too large or too small?

If you think the 19.7 is going to be small I would just get a 16' 18.7 and keep with the same brand so you are timed up the same. You never know if you will need more grip.
