"Pop"

Man, I didn't know the northwest was full of yankees. That word is like fingernails on a chalkboard.

Everyone knows the proper term is "soda water" or "coke" if you prefer the generic Texan term...as in

"do you want a coke?"
"yeah."
"what kind?"
"dr pepper."

i cant say that i agree with "POP" either. In CA, its soda, or as Achtung wrote, "soda: or Coke, Everyone in MI says pop, and i laugh every time, no offense to anyone who says it, its just a different world... hahahahaha, this is a great topic.! :)

It sure didnt take me long to quite saying "pop" when I moved from Oregon to Texas. Getting laughed at every time you say a certain word will sure make you change your habits quickly. Now I can't help but laugh when I go back to my home town and hear them all taking about "pop".

I have run into a problem with the coke thing. I just can't bring myself to call any non-coke colored beverage a coke.

I don't care if people laugh at me :P I just laugh at them when they talk about drinking sweet tea, say y'all (oh wait I say that too sometimes :o), or do something else really southern :dazed:
