Where to put the pit

so my athletic director said i could have the old vault pit. its a pretty beat up old pacer pit but im just planning on short vaults and drills over the summer. the only problem is im not sure how much room i need for it and where i should put it. someone pleassse help?

If at all possible, put it on grass, not concrete.

But I recommend selling it to someone on this site and using the $$ to buy some poles for your school and to pay for lessons with a club coach if possible.
