sorry jeff......bob got silver in 56'. also from what jim johnston(1958NCAA champ) has said about that particular jump. he says that that was the first time a pole had gone under the crossbar, so they didn't count the record. Bob's death occured after he had failed to make the olymipic team for the vault and was driving furiously to the site for the decathlon trials and had a car crash. according to JJ
