In illinois you can go to driving school and get the ticket off your record. I can't speak of what happens in CA

Tickets are usually no big deal, especially not the first one...It sucks if you get points on your license, and thats when they can start hitting you with charges on insurance, but if its no points you can either just pay it or you can go to traffic court and try to make a deal with the prosecutor. When I went (I'm in Jersey) I luckily knew the prosecutor's assistant, and she got me out of the ticket completely. :P

I went through a stretch where I got a few speeding tickets: http://www.polevaultpower.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=349

It's been a few years since I had one. I got lucky and got off with warnings the last few times.

The last time was a year or two ago driving from St. Louis to Jonesboro. I was on a dark road that was truly in the middle of nowhere and was not paying attention to my speed. I think I was going 70 in a 55. I made sure to drop Earl's name and Bell Athletics into the conversation. Don't know if that helped or not, but I got a warning O:-)

ouch becca, did i see that right? 3 tickets in half a year? well that makes me feel better haha. though its not gonna be fun when i get chewed out by the judge for going 92 mph, (yes i am ashamed of that number :o ) i just tend to fear authority. i could barely even pull it togehter when i had to face the dean the first day of school!
thanks for the help guys, ive learned my lesson!

Uggh yeah and it suuucked.

I just don't drive that fast anymore. I'm not in as big of a hurry. I prefer to take the scenic route these days.

Every day after a 5 oclock workout i drive back with my friend on a highway at around 5:30 or 6, thats the time to speed if you really want to, theres no cops. Not that i do that or anything.....
