Yeah we do use it a bit - we posted some live updates from reno this week but mostly we use it to remind folks of upcoming, practices or other things (signup dates etc.) - we probably don't use all of it's capabilities but it does what we want it too...

http://www.patriotpv.com/ - look on the right hand side

and Rachel - aren't you supposed to be in class instead of posting to PVP ??? O:-)

umm well i was actually in study. and PVP is one of the few websites that isnt blocked, along with patriot, and sparknotes (that one's supposed to be blocked), and i had nothing to do, so why not come on here? haha if you ever stalk me on the high school forum, you'll notice that i come on quite a bit during study.

EDIT: doug what are these big things that happened in reno that im supposed to ask a coach about?

I made a Twitter account for PV Power: http://twitter.com/polevaultpower

I will try to use it to keep people updated. Let me know if you think there is anything cool I should do with it!

Becca, how about putting links on your main page, or maybe a locked thread (always on top) to advertise your twitter site ... and a suggestion to subscribe to the feed (and how to do that)? Also remind everyone to bookmark it?

Just make it easy to find. You could probably even put it in your personal tagline of your posts if you wanted to really hype it! :)

Maybe twitter could be used for your play-by-plays of major PV events? e.g. NCAA, USATF meets?

I don't know if that's a good application or not, but since you can subcribe to a twitter feed thru SMS messages on your phone, subscribers could stay updated on the play-by-play even if they're not at their computer.

If I am in a situation where I can only update via cell phone, Twitter is the way to go. If I have internet, there is a cool application that I have seen FloTrack use, so I will probably try that.

Well, if Twitter content can be INPUT by cell phone, then great!

But I was referring to OUTPUTTING the content to subscribers by phone. For example, while I watch the USATF PV events, I could see what you have to say after every jump.

Hmm ... maybe I should just sit near you! :D
