I understand what you are getting at I think, (I coach Logan as well) but what exactly do you mean by that ^ ? Are you suggesting a pole brand with a different design, or just a different length in pole? In the PR clips, he is jumping on a 15'9 gripping 15'6. I don't think his attempts at 16'7 are in that video mix, but he was jumping on a 16' pole gripping 15'8.

I would suggest a change in brands. I hate to give such detailed advice without actually standing there and watching Logan jump, but the fact that his pole is bending funny is apparent in the video. Maybe it has something to do with how he is taking off; I just can't tell. My best advice at this point is that you find a green Skypole or, even better, an Essx with the right flex and give it a try, even if you have to short run to make it stiff enough. Barring that, measure the sail piece in the poles you have available. Something with about a 14' long side and an 82" center will definitely work. Hope this helps.

Also, put his standards at 80 and leave them there when you are trying this out.

Yikes. That blows my advice out of the water. :dazed: I must be seeing things wrong on the film. Or, as is more likely, I'm just plain wrong in general. I still think the pole needs to bend more in the handle. Why it is not doing so has nothing to do with his pole design if he is already on Essx. They have a higher bend than anything out there, and for that reason, are all my vaulters use. Sorry for the confusion.
