That shot is after 6+ years of sprint training. You should have seen him when he first came out. He was a 12' guy who couldn't get on a 1565. Two years later as a senior in high school he jumped 15' 9" on a 1680. When he won Hungarian Nationals he was on some BIG 16' 9" poles.

He got his MBA and works for a financial giant as an analyst in Europe. Super hard worker! Bubba

I'm going to agree with the Pete Slowvacs answer. I jumped w/ him in HS. We called him glacier: big, white, and slow. :)

Every time I'd see him, I'd here "dude!! I got faster!!".
me: "Yea Pete, its not hard to PR when your 100m time is over 15sec"

And I couldnt agree more with bubba - pete is one of the most awesome guys I know. hands down the funniest guy at a 21 table in reno EVAR.

This just in from Pete in Europe,

..................... NOW, about the posts:

1. Thanks for all your support (you, Kris, Nate, B.J., Kevin, et al).
2. Tell the guy who thinks I am not that slow, that Kevin's footage is not
real time, but time lapse (i.e., sped up) - Nate's footage shows much better the "true" speed!
3. I ran a 12.6 100m in college, if you remember... My final year competing I ran a 7.12 60m - that's an 11.8 if I kept up the "speed" (I think you accelerate more for the 100m though...) Let's say that I could probably run a 11.6 then. Like you said, it's like watching paint dry :-D

Glad I am remembered for something in the PV books!

Take care and let's keep in touch... I'll give you a call ...
