if anyone has ever seen jacob blankenship vault, you immediately see his knee swing/drive. ive done this on a high bar and feel like it is a stonger way to drive and swing. does it affect any other parts of the vault?

It keeps his center of mass lower which drives the pole in a little longer, making him 'have to' get on bigger poles. The negative is that it slightly slows down the swing and makes the vaulter have to tuck slightly more than they would if they did not drop the knee to cover the pole. There is a little bit of give and take on the pros and cons. By no means is it wrong, but that does not mean it is the best for everyone.. maybe just the best for him.

Well, his swing has been much more radical. Just check his performance at World Youth Championships in Lille, France:
