10-6 Hump?

Unread postby kevinw » Thu Jan 24, 2013 10:41 pm

I'm having a lot of trouble clearing above 10-6. I jump on a 13' 155 pole that I bend the s__t out of. I don't really have access to many other poles. I'm really trying to explode upward, but did anybody else seem to reach a height that they just couldn't jump above? If so, how did you finally get over it and start jumping higher?

It takes a lot more than bending the pole to jump high. Where are your standards when you jump?

I place my standards at 22" to start at like 9-0 and move them up to 25" when I'm attempting 11-0

It would be helpful if you could post a video of your vaults. I agree with Becca that bending the pole does not always get higher bars. I had a freshman boy last season clear 11 feet with no bend at all.
