Tilting My Head

Unread postby asaleh » Sat Jan 19, 2013 10:26 am

Hello. I'm a sophomore in high school and I'm having trouble with tilting my head. How can I stop this but without jumping. (Don't have access to pit). Thank you.

I assume you mean throwing your head back when you swing up? If so then the only way that comes to mind to work on it without a pit would be too practice high bar swings, if you access to one of those. Also when you are in practice next and still are throwing your head back, tuck in your shirt and hold your collar in your mouth. That is what helped me when I had a similar problem.

thanks a lot. I really appreciate the helpful info. I'll try that next time I practice.

Call your local cheer/gymnastics gyms and ask about open gym and/or private lessons for high bar and rings. Both will have a direct transference to developing your "SWING GENE" and support your vault mechanics.
