(MI) Where's Oran Mitchell?

Hey, does anyone know how Oran is doing?
I haven't heard anything about him for some time now.

last i heard he had just had surgery but that was back in the summer that i heard that. if you figure it out let me know i would love to know how he is doing

Yeah he had surgery, and last I heard he wasn't doing that good... I haven't heard anything in a while though...

anyone visiting him, I coached with him back in the 80's he's a great guy.... anyone have an address to send a card too......???

cool.... he was a guy that helped more kids than one knows, he did'nt care who you were or what school you went to he was always available!!!
An asset to the event for many many years!!!!!

I met him several years ago at an AAU meet. One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. You could tell that his kids really loved him.

2-15-46: You are totally right about Oran. In fact, Oran was absolutely invaluable in helping me develop as a person and a pole vaulter. His enthusiasm and passion for the event still inspire me to this day. I used to call him on a regular basis, but it has been a year or two since I have talked to him.

OH, He has come to a couple EMU and UofM meets so far.
He said he had a triple-by-pass done last year and he has been recovering from it. He's still walk'n around, slow, but he's hang'n in there. Still happy to coach anyone he can too!!! :D
