Chicago Street Vault July 22

Unread postby run faster jump higher » Mon Apr 24, 2006 12:10 am

I'm close to getting the OK to host a street vault in Chicago the weekend of July 22. it would be a part of the Sheffield neighborhood street festival that surrounds DePaul university -- live music, beer tents, food tents, tons of people - like a big 10 tailgate party in the streets. it's about 2 miles south of Wrigley field, and is one of the best parties of the summer - all it needs is a world class street vault. I'd probably ask for a $20 registration fee to help offset costs (I may need to build a board runway if I can't find one to borrow). could I get a quick show of hands of those who might be interested? If I could get 30 jumpers, including one or two 17'ers I think it would be a go.

let me know ASAP! thanks!

Joel

Cool!

I can't make it, but it sounds like a lot of fun.

ok I'm lovin the interest! man Justin, it would be awesome to have you there!

so here's the update -- the festival chairman likes the idea (I showed him Clovis footage on NeoVault). he said a couple people have voiced concern over safety/liability. I think they're going to make a decision in about a week.

skot, I'm sure you could get a pole bag on the train, but it would be easier to just towel strap it to your car and drive. drop the poles off and park a few blocks away.

Tell him you can get a USATF sanction for the event and that will cover liability.
