Shade jumped 13'7". That's the only HS winner I know.

Oh yeah and Paul Babits 5.01 meters. And I think Gary Hunter got a WR on that pit too at 4.7something.

Gary told me he jumped 15' 3". Don't know if that's a WR but they didn't announce it as such and he was on the same pit as Babbits. Bubba

Maybe he was just attempting the WR

I think you're right Becca. I just checked the WMA site and the record is 4.71m by Gary.

A more interesting question would be does Jeff Kingstad really get the WR for M55 at 4.11m since the height was made in a jump off with John Altendorf. He did not make 4.11m in his three attempts, but on #4 in the jump off. Question #1 is would a jump off mark count? I don't think so but I don't know. Question #2 would be was a jump off merited since Kingstad and Altendorf represent different divisions? I don't know if that matters either.

Thanks for any clarification! Bubba

He had a good attempt at 17' also.

I was getting ready to jump myself so I was at the back of runway #7 when Paul took the 16' 7" jump. LOTS of hip height. I spent a lot of time talking to him on this trip about some of the things he does. Very fun!

BTW - I was on the plane with two officials who both said that Kingstad's WR can't count since it was in a jump off. He'll obviously do it again soon as he looked very good. Bubba
