It has begun!
McEwen kicks things off with a first attempt clearance at 4.00. No one else has cleared yet, but most of the big vaulters will be passing a few bars.

The weather is reportedly pretty miserable, cold and rainy. The results are reflectign this. 5 girls NH'd at 4.00m (really low for all of these competitors) including Piwowarska, Grigorieva, and Golubchikova.
Ryzih and Hamakova clear 4.00 on 2nd and 3rd attempts to stay alive. McEwen clears 4.15 on her 2nd to maintain the lead. It looks like everyone else passed 4.15.

OK whoever is doing the live results appears to not quite understand what they are doing...
Best I can figure, everyone is out now except Isi. They did not indicate what happened on a few people's 3rd attempts, so I am going to assume they missed.
Somehow heights passed are coming up as makes when they do the standings. Niki McEwen is still leading the competition as far as I can tell.
Isinbayeva has missed her first attempt at 4.40.

It looks like it is over?? I am not sure because there are still attempts remaining, but the results seem to indicate that they are done. I would imagine the weather was so awful that everyone decided it was unsafe to continue.
If so... Niki McEwen WINS!!!!!

Warszawa scores

So do you suppose the spectators were annoyed when the headliners quit after a combined three attempts, or were they already running for cover?

Isi posted a note about the weather in Warsaw on her website
here.

Only wanted to drop two lines and let you know where to go on Holiday.
Try to chose a place where there's no competition with me, otherwise you have a high risk of finding bad weather. This year was quite incredible with Göteborg and Birmingham but what I've seen in Warsaw was unbelievable: Rain and 10 degrees celsius. I did a try with one jump but run through. Really to dangerous and didn't want to risk to have an injury. So it will be for the next time ...
Bye Bye

Niki had the advantage in this competition of having competed in Abbotsford early in the season!
