I finally got around to watching the WCSN archive of Turin, and it was mentioned that Gibilisco is no longer working with Petrov. Does anybody here know the circumstances of their parting?

No, but I heard the same thing today.

After asking the question, I found a Giuseppe Gibilisco interview on the meet's website:

Vitaly Petrof is no more your trainer. Has something changed in your methods?

No, Petrov gave me in the past years the right basis, now I just have to maintain the level. Domenico Ingrosso was Petrov’s assistant and is himself a good trainer. He is young and lacks a bit of experience, but he learnt a lot from Petrov and understands well the needs of an athlete. We can work very well together.

So at least there doesn't appear to be any public animosity. Still, I've gotta wonder whether Petrov taking on another high profile athlete made GG feel as if he wasn't receiving as much attention as he needs.
