Routinely checking the seasonal bests of the vaulters on the Monaco WAF startlists, and looking for notable absentees, I was jolted to see, as I hadn't at first glance, that Isinbayeva isn't on the startlist. What goes? Has she made enough money already that she'd rather spend her time at the Monte Carlo casinos than on the track? Or was she serious, about giving Hollywood a try?

Those startlist seasonal bests and notable absentees from the world top 15:

WALKER (USA) 5.96
LOBINGER (GER) 5.93
MACK (USA) 5.85
MILES (USA) 5.81
BLOM (NED) 5.80
STEVENSON (USA) 5.90
PAVLOV (RUS) 5.80
GIBILISCO (ITA) 5.83
SAWANO (JPN) 5.83

Notable absentees: Burgess 6.00, Hooker 5.87, Ryland 5.81, Revenko 5.80, Otto 5.77, Borgeling 5.77

PYREK (POL) 4.70
ROGOWSKA (POL) 4.83
POLNOVA (RUS) 4.52

Taking another look at the startlist Becca posted, Isinbayeva was there, of course, right at the top. I just missed highlighting her name when I copied the list.

Sorry about that, but I hope the rest of the seasonal bests and lists of absentees are correct.

Actually she wasn't on the original list. The ones they have posted now include Isinbayeva and knock the bottom people off, narrowing the field to 8 competitors.

Only the top 8 according to the IAAF scoring system are invited to the Athletics Final.
