A shame the live stream didn't work! Glad I was able to juggle the updates and my 21mo daughter :) Here is a little blurb I posted on the T&F News forums.

Great jumping tonight! New WL for Lavillenie with 5.92. He next attempted 6.00m. I didn't think any of his attempts were super close, but I didn't think he hit a great takeoff on any of them, they were kind of sloppy, he was still up there. When he hits a good jump he is in 6.00+ form right now.

Sam Kendricks had a nice PR at 5.86m! The decision to go pro early seems to be paying off.

Stefanidi won the women with 4.60m, she looks ready to jump higher, though none of her attempts at 4.73 were any good. Clearing 4.50 were Gergel, Saxer and Holliday. Gergel looks ready to join the 15' club, she moved to Knoxville to train with Tim Mack's group and it is paying off. Saxer had some height over the bar at 4.50 and should jump higher indoors. Holliday is just so consistent year after year, this year looks to be another great one for her.

Rl's trainer, Philippe d'Encausse, interviewed by a newspaper after the show (L'Equipe, http://www.lequipe.fr/Athla-tisme/Actualites/Lavillenie-mission-accomplie/528792) :

(about RL's performance)
"His goal was to break the record of the meeting which was 5.91 m.
Above all, he almost made 6 m on a somewhat particularly narrow track. So, it's a good performance at this stage of the season.
As everyone is bound to compare, let's say it's better than last year at the same time. This is a seriously good result.
He made a last attempt at 6 m with difficulties to put one foot in front of the other because he was tired. But having to manage a jet lag and other things like that is part of the job. He's not a beginner. And it's a very nice place here! There's no pressure and people are very happy to see him."
(about Kendrick's performance)
"It's good to find some people at this level, because it brings more interest to the competition. If the second was at 5.50 m, it would have been less fun."

Vids of Lavillenie's 5.92 m jump... (think the 4th will interess those who look at his technics... what a good free take off ! (thanks to mister Petrov)... after this it's only RL's style with a maximum low point of gravity during bending and rotating the pole. He just have to be patient(*), remember he's a good long jumper ;) )

And Kendricks at 5.86 m (carbon pole I think... due to the reaction of the pole)

(*) A proverb in french from La Fontaine : "Patience et longueur de temps font plus que force ni que rage"... that meens "Patience and fullness of time do more than force or fury".

Always is a pleasure to see Sam Kendriks jumping! Is the best over the bar! Totally agree with D'Encausse about how important is to see more jumpers in 5.80 or closest to Lavillenie.
