IRANIANS SCOOP SIX MEDALS
Iran's track-and-field team has garnered six colorful medals.
Ayoub Arkhi stole the country's sole gold in the javelin. The silver came as Mehdi Shahrokhi finished runner-up in the shot put and his teammates, Rouhollah Asgari, Amin Nikfar, Ehsan Haddadi, and Mohammad-Hassan Rabbani bagged bronze medals in the 110m hurdles, shot put, discus, and pole vault respectively.
Asian discus silver medalist and Iranian record-holder, Abbas Samimi, ranked fourth in the Solidarity Games
