Harry Jerome and Lafarge International

I just heard that there is a possibility of having a men's pole vault at the Harry Jerome and the Lafarge International meet. However, we would need to have interest from a number of elite vaulters. My guess is that if we had 6 vaulters over 5m (16'5"), there could be at least one of the two meets happening. The Harry Jerome is on Tuesday, June 14th, at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby. The Lafarge International is on Thursday, June 16th, at Swan Stadium in Abbotsford. There is prize money for both of these:
$50000 US will be given out in total for the Harry Jerome. Athletes compete against all other events on the Mercier table, from what I gather.
I can't seem to find info on the prize money for the Lafarge meet, but I will continue looking.
Anyway, if there are some guys interested, please post a reply, or send me a private message. I will forward information on how many are interested to the meet directors.

What are the dates of the meet? And where is it? I hang out with a few guys that jump over 5m.

Andy is trying to get the men's vault added to the meet, that is why he needs people to commit now to going.

Okay, here's the deal.
Any guys interested... I need your name and seed (must be 5m or 16'5" or more).
If I can get a list of vaulters to the meet directors in the next week, this might happen.
Email me your name and heigt to
andy_miller@edu.yorku.ca
Once I hear about whether or not these meets are going to have men's vault, I will reply to your emails.
Thanks, and cross your fingers!

Okay, I may have 4 vaulters for this meet.
If there are any others that are still thinking about it, I need to hear from you soon!
This weekend, I'm going to submit a list to the meet directors, and see what they say.

Give them your list and tell them you can get more between now and then if they add it as an event. I am sure more people will come if it is a sure thing. Just takes time for the word to spread.

Hi all,
Just a quick FYI to keep you all in the loop. These two meets are not a go yet. I am waiting to hear back from the meet organizers. There is talk of a change in format which may exclude the possibility of having a men's pole vault. There is a meeting next Monday, and I should be hearing something shortly after that.
        Keep your fingers crossed.
