Germany got 3 Men and 3 Women into the finals, Best of all Countries. France 2 Men 1 Woman. US 1 and 1. Russia 3 Women 1 Man.

I hope there's good coverage of the finals live.

USATF Quotes:

Jenn Suhr, women’s pole vault qualification
“I took two jumps. The first one I just blew through the pole, so the second one I was able to go up the pole and make it. It's always like, 'Is that enough to get in? Do I have to jump again?' It's always crazy. Qualifying is always nerve wracking. There are a lot of studs in their third attempt out there, and I just want to make it first attempt, but that didn't work out, so I just tried to get it on the second jump. Finals you can relax more and accept things, the qualifier you are just tense and want to get to the next round.”

Becky Holliday, women’s pole vault qualification
“I started out good, then my run fell apart a little bit, so that is a good lesson to learn. I need to be prepared to come in higher and not waste my time at the lower bars. I'm looking forward to next year, I'm going home from Moscow, so my season is probably done, but you never know.”

I didn't see any of the live feeds. What were the conditions there? Any rain?

I've seen some jumps, it wasn't raining for sure. Maybe a bit of wind, but nothing dramatic.

Finals start in about an hour.

I'll say 6 over 4.65 4 over 4.75, first attempt will medal. 4.82 will win it.

Silva is the world leader this year but she looked beatable in qualifying. Isi and Suhr haven't jumped much this year so it's hard to predict but they are veterans and will be ready for this meet. I don't think they're in 5 meter form though. If anyone jumps 4.89 that would win it. I think it will be won at 4.82 on attempts.

Isi has said she will retire after this meet. Suhr and Murer are about the same age, might be the last we see of all of them on the World Stage. They have been great icons of the sport.

If it goes the way of the Men towards youth, Silva is the best athlete and Spiegleberg is always in the hunt, she's been cursed with 4th places before.

Really hard to call this one.

Hope to see it all on German TV

Good Show ! Isinbeyava got the monkey off her back with the enthusiastic support of the home crowd. Her celebration was fun to watch. I hope she does come back after kids, but that's probably wishful thinking on her part. If this was her swan song it was a good one !

Suhr was leading most of the meet, It took a great effort by Isi to beat her. Silva had a clutch jump to get bronze, denying Spiegleberg a medal once again.

I can't believe another season is over already. I must be getting old

Here is what happened with Jenn's jump:

Suhr first "attempt": a German vaulter was on the runway getting ready to vault. Suddenly the judge says that it's not her turn, rather Suhr's. Suhr quickly gets on the runway and has to vault, as the clock is running out. She misses, of course. Glad her protest worked out.

it was a great one, but in my opnion, worse quality-wise to mens´ final!
suhr was disappointing. given her season this year, i thought she would have won...and could have. but isinbayeva was impressive and specially, so solid and sure she would win. that was the key of her gold i think
