Yeah he's FAST. On that jump he hit about the same mid that the top three elites were hitting the night before.

anybody think hes overstriding here? looks like hes could be running a lot taller and probably wind up a pole or two up and jump 20cm higher in a hurry. lots of raw potential there. whos he training with?

No not 5 meter. He is on 15 foot poles, he told me and Tom Hayes.

DJ, I think the 4 step mid was ~41' or 41'6.

I think so too, he's "sitting too low" on the run - this type of running is much more suitable for sprinting. The last two steps look particularly deep and heavy - landing on his heels first. Last step is a huge block-step and he would be losing quite a bit of speed at the very end of the run. Also the take-off is not as powerful as it could be because of how much he bends his legs in the final step in an effort to jump. But this is all technique stuff which is fixable with a lot of hard work. Definitely a lot of potential here and I'm very much interested in seeing how high he goes!

hey

41/41-6 is equal to a 54 plus 6 step "MID"... Bubka was at 56 feet .. a 5.10 grip and jumped 19-8 easy ... and had the correct speed and posture for the 56 mid...

i agree overstriding.. overstriding means he can't get the hips in the correct alignment to actully takeoff correctly...

the run is out of sink from the start with the "bound" or "gallop"... he will always have consistancy problems.. out more than "on"...

will be interesting to see if he makes reasonable progress..
