Best ever marks for place

I had to search to figure out what it means, but "Mark-for-Place" apparently means the best mark while taking nth place in a meet. IOW, the second best mark listed for all events on the list is the best mark that took 2nd place in a meet (meaning, someone else did better at that meet). So if he won a meet at 5.90, then that would only be in contention for the best first place mark (and fails on that account, because it's not a world record).
