Pole Storage at the Olympics

While watching the running events I could see the pole vault area. It looked like all of the competitors poles were stored in these giant tubes which held each individual tube. It was pretty cool stuff, made for TV no doubt.

I'd seen these big tubes on the Beijing 2008 computer game. I assumed that this was the programmers making a mistake in the design or something. Obviously these had been planned before hand, and the game developers had been informed as well. Thats some nice organisation and planning.

My mistake, they're not the same, but those rotating things are ace.

It seems, given the Fabiana Murer experience, that having all your poles moved to what appears as an unmarked tube similar to all the other athletes. isn't so cool.
My guess is, that Murer's pole could have been misplaced during the qualification, and that another athlete got some extra bagage.
As a vaulter, you can't pull out a couple of favorite poles in advance, since the wheel rotates. Made for TV, but I feel so bad for Murer, if it had any role in her misplaced pole.....
